SEASONAL // ABOUT 45 MINUTES
Seasonal Tire Change in Okotoks
Winters on in October, off in April, torqued to spec every time. Bring the off-season set, or leave it on our racks and we bring it out. About 45 minutes, booked to the slot.
What's included
When to switch
The 7°C rule, the forecast, and the state of the set. If two of these sound like this week, book it.
Book a service →- Daytime highs are sitting below 7°C, which in the Foothills is usually mid-October.
- The first snow is in the forecast and you would rather not be in the queue behind it.
- Spring is here to stay and the winters are wearing fast on warm pavement.
- The dash is showing a pressure light after the first cold snap.
- Your winter set is in our storage and you want it out on a day that suits.
How it works
- DROP OFFPull in, keys at the counterTell us if the set is in the truck, in our storage, or if you are waiting. Coffee is on.
- IN THE BAYOff, on, torquedOne vehicle at a time. Wheels swapped or tires mounted and balanced, lug nuts hand-torqued, sensors relearned.
- ON YOUR WAYStraight answersIf a tire is near the end, you hear it now, not at the next changeover. Come back after 100 km for a free re-torque; it takes five minutes.

Seasonal Tire Change in the Foothills
What thirty-four winters on Railway Street taught us about this job.
In most of Canada a changeover is a date on the calendar. In the Foothills it is a judgement call. A chinook can put October back into shorts weather for a week, and the first real snow can land before Thanksgiving. The rule we use is the 7°C one: when daytime highs stay under it, the rubber in an all-season is already hardening and the winters go on. In spring, wait for the pavement to stay warm, because a winter tire on a hot April afternoon wears in a hurry. Highway 2 commuters tend to switch a week earlier than town drivers, and anyone heading west on Highway 7 or the range roads should not be caught on all-seasons past the middle of October.
FAQ // SEASONAL TIRE CHANGE IN OKOTOKS
Straight Answers
Did not find it? Call (403) 938-3110 during shop hours, or ask at the counter.
How much does a seasonal tire change cost in Okotoks?
It depends on whether your tires are on rims or loose, whether the vehicle has TPMS sensors, and the wheel size. We give you the all-in price up front and the invoice matches it. Call for today's number, or book online and we confirm it with the appointment.
Do you do changeovers for High River, Calgary and the county?
Every day. High River is about 20 minutes away and south Calgary 25 to 30; plenty of customers book the changeover around a Saturday morning in Okotoks.
How long does it take?
About 45 minutes for a swap on rims. Loose tires that need mounting and balancing take longer; we tell you when you book. In the October and April rush, book two to three weeks ahead.
Can I get tires, storage and the changeover in one visit?
Yes. Order the tires online first so they are on the shelf, book the changeover, and ask for storage when you book. The off-season set goes straight to the racks.
Why book the changeover at Rim2Rim?
One vehicle at a time, lug nuts torqued by hand, and people on the floor who have been here since 1992. If a tire is on its way out, you hear it straight, with no upsell.
