How the shop got here
Thirty-four years on the same street, by the tracks.
Rim to Rim Tire Centre opened in the summer of 1992, when Okotoks was a town of a little over 7,000 people. The town is closer to 30,000 now. The shop is still on South Railway Street, still family run, and still doing the same job it did on the first day, which is fitting tires that suit how people around here actually drive.
Nothing about that growth was a marketing plan. It was word of mouth: one changeover done properly, one honest answer about a tire that did not need replacing, one truck back on the road the same afternoon. Thirty-four years of that adds up to a customer list that includes a lot of second generations.
Being independent is the part that matters most. There is no head office setting a monthly sales target for this bay, which means nobody here has a reason to sell you a tire you do not need. That is not a slogan, it is just how the ownership works.
What we actually do
Tires and wheels first, and the mechanical work that keeps them honest.
Tires are the core: passenger, light truck, heavy truck, trailer, ATV and industrial, from simple daily drivers to the odd exotic. If a line is not on our shelf we order it in, usually within a day or two, and we will tell you plainly which of the two it is.
Around that sits the work that protects a set of tires: alignments, rotations and balancing, repairs, TPMS, stud installation and seasonal storage. We also do brakes, suspension and steering and wheel bearings, because a tire cannot fix a car that is bouncing or pulling.
And wheels. There is a wall of them in the showroom, winter packages on steel or alloy, and a coffee pot that is on all day. Come and take a look at what you are buying before you buy it.
The crew and the equipment
Seasoned techs, laser alignment, and no waiting around all afternoon.
The crew has more than seventy-five years of combined experience in tire and mechanical work. That shows up in the small decisions: spotting the wear pattern that means an alignment rather than a new set, knowing which winter compound suits a Highway 2 commute, catching a bent wheel before it costs you a tire.
The equipment is current, because tire work has changed. Laser alignment measured against the manufacturer's own spec, a John Bean balancer that finds the vibration a static balance misses, and TPMS tools that cover the makes and models on the road here. Wheels go back on with a torque wrench, every time.
The other thing people mention is speed. A wheel-to-wheel changeover is about forty-five minutes and a mount and balance on four is about an hour, so a booked appointment does not cost you a day off work.
What we stand behind
Four things we will not trade away for a busier bay.
Fair, up-front pricing. The number we quote is the installed total: tires, mounting, balancing, valves, disposal and tax. No hidden fees, no gimmicks, and the same treatment whether you are buying the value set or the premium one.
Work we stand by. Every mount, every alignment, every repair is done to spec and checked. Your safety rides on it, and we do not take that lightly.
A crew that knows the answer. Ask why, and you will get the actual reason rather than a script. If the honest answer is that your tires are fine for another season, that is the answer you get.
Thirty-four years of seeing it all. Classic rides, modern imports, work trucks, off-road builds, trailers that have not moved since last summer. Experience is what makes the diagnosis fast and the fix right the first time.
